    2000 TJ Ol Yeller

Well folks, all great stories must come to an end. This past week I finally took the plunge and sold Ol Yeller. The fellow who bought it is young, enthusiastic, and I'm sure it'll have a great new home. In the 4 years I owned it, I had some great rides, some great adventures, and met some...

Help identifying tire rack and advice on Safari Rack

It's a valid question - gets asked on a lot of forums. For me it's a convenient sleeping arrangement that is easy to setup and tear down. THis is my getaway vehicle (and by that i mean "I NEED TO GET AWAY THIS WEEKEND" - with the rooftop tent I can just pop over to a park somewhere, open it up...

Help identifying tire rack and advice on Safari Rack

Hey everyone - it's getting warm here in the northeast, and it's time to start thinking about how to build out Ole Yeller. WIth the COVID-19 stuff going on, my need to ESCAPE has gone up dramatically, so I'm thinking of refitting my 2000 TJ to make it a better camping platform. Safari rack and...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Hey everyone, I just posted a nice long update on my build thread here: https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/2000-tj-ol-yeller.1791/page-2#post-389424 This week was "catch up on a bunch of maintenance / fixes" time. The short list: Replaced the horn (took out a crappy airhorn and put a normal...

    2000 TJ Ol Yeller

This week was shutdown week for my job, which means we get a ort of 'forced' week off from work. I decided to take this time to do a bunch of things on Ol Yeller that had been backlogged. A week or two ago I cleaned out the carport and rearranged the workbench, so I had Real Live space to...

July week tune-up: What should I get?

Thanks Chris! I actually did one of my O2 sensors a year or so ago (see my build page) - no codes or warnings on the others. Given how much of a pain in the ass it was getting the old one out, I think I'll wait until I get code warnings before tackling them again :) Thanks for the info on the...

July week tune-up: What should I get?

Blinker Fluid. Funny guy. I may not have the gear / equipment to do transmission fluid and diff. I can probably do the rest myself though, i guess it's finally time to get a decent pan / oil collector. I was thinking of plugs and plug wires though. Thanks muchly!

July week tune-up: What should I get?

Hey veryone. I'm goign to take my july 4th week off work to do some tuning on Ol Yeller. There's a bunch of basic work I'll be doing (horn, headlight switches, wiper motors, etc), but on my last drive out, I heard a quick stall / stutter that wasn't normal. It didn't throw any codes (no...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Depends on the bikes. It's visible, but may have some hardware in front of it. But hopefully the times you'll have bieks on the back of the jeep are limited... not something you want to drive around all day every day with.

Advice on mounting new safari rack - missing hardware?

Hey everyone - just scored a safari rack for the Ole Yeller on craigslist ($50, can't complain!) - I think I'm missing some mounting hardware though - this would be for the rear. I think the front brackets re fine (they look to fit on the windshield sides fine - note the front brackets are not...

2000 TJ - Replacement headlight switch is acting funny...

Ol Yeller developed a problem in the headlight switch - when you pull on the knob, the lights don't go on until you really fiddle around with it. Push it in slightly, wiggle it, etc. I thought it was non-use, but even after a few weeks of fiddling with it, it's not getting better. I bought a...

    Stock OE seat replacement option

That's interesting, I got 37" also! So maybe not a big deal, or that my seat is funky, dunno. On the other hand, going by this stunning picture of my bald-assed head, there's only an inch between the back of my head and the rollbar, particularly if i lean back. This is too tight to tell :(
