What did you do to your TJ today?

More likely. I have the typical rust on top of the fenders, and have primered replacements waiting in the pile o' parts. If I bite the bullet and do the passenger side, I'll have plenty of space to get at it. This is getting ridiculous, though! 😃

What did you do to your TJ today?

Finally some warm weather in the Mitten, so tackling my front bumper in prep for the Warn 8000 I picked up on FB Marketplace for $100 and will be rebuilding this summer. PO welded the bumper to the front frame ends, then welded down the factory tow hooks for good measure. 6 cutoff wheels later...

Passenger floor pan repair advice please

Pulled the carpet and found a slight issue with the passenger side floor pan: I'm planning on grinding/sanding off the rust, hitting the area with a rust-encapsulating primer, and gluing down an Amazon repair plate using body panel adhesive. Last is painting with some Forest Green I have in...

Last nut on gas tank wont let go

I'm starting on the pile of parts I accumulated over winter, and shocks are on the docket. I'm overcautious, so I want to drop the gas tank to get at the rear upper bolts. I have 6 of the 7 nuts off, but I think I broke one loose in the process and it appears to be just spinning. My question...

Is this used WARN VR8000 a good buy?

As usual, I am coming to the fount of wisdom, hat in hand, looking for advice. I have in my sights a working WARN VR8000 winch, spooled with steel cable, for $300 (verified that the motor spins and the remote works). I understand from some quick searching that this model has a solenoid control...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Kids got me these for Father's Day last summer, and I run with just the driver side under my soft top. Couldn't get past the mental block of having the passenger one blocking off my vision when I glance back to that blind spot. I was worried they would flop around unless filled, but even mostly...

What did you do to your TJ today?

New no-name soft top in Spice, was a Father's Day gift. Like the look much better than the old black one that was on it. As a bonus, these windows are unscratched, so I can actually see out of them now! 😁 If anyone wants the old Frankenstein setup I was running (Shittybilt soft top with OEM...

What did you do to your TJ today?

I use a trick I stole from someone else on this forum. Use a plastic grocery bag, and place it over the filter after loosening it slightly. Then, unscrew the filter through the bag and drop it right into the bag. Takes a bit of practice, but after a couple times, I can now get the mess all in...

Intermittent Air Bag light and A/C not working

Your mechanic is probably correct. The Hulk (my 2001 Forest Green Pearl) was having these exact symptoms, and they were all fixed by replacing the ignition switch. Ordered the replacement from Rockauto.com, and did it myself after watching a video in the How To section, and some Youtubing. I...

    Hose removal advice

I have a set of these that I ordered and did not use when the Jasper create motor got dropped in. You can have them for whatever shipping costs, if you'd like.

Just did this on The Hulk, he was giving me trouble on right turns at slow speed. Fixed the issue. I'm curious about your trip, how did you find the trails? I think I'm ready to start putting the Jeep through it's paces, and while eventually I'd like to get to some of the really scenic stuff...

What did you do to your TJ today?

Nice! Next time, I'll look closer at how to lever something like that out. Frankly, was just too close to the end of my rope. Thanks for the tip!
