roverhi

Had a long term addiction with Series Land Rovers, the vehicle that tamed Africa. Aluminum body but thin wall steel welded box frames that are their downfall. Took a couple to bare frame and mechanical rebuild but mostly yard sculptures as people kept giving me rusted ones to get them out/off their property.

Eventually found another off kilter fellow to take the collection off my hands. After a Mid Life romance with a rice rocket Civic SI admitted I'm just a Jeep/Landrover kind of guy and began searching for an LJ while briefly thinking about a new Diesel JL. Surprisingly found a few low mileage LJ's here in Kona and other Islands but was too slow pulling the trigger on purchase or they had rust issues. This one turned up on Maui with only 28,000 miles, bought it from photos and had it barged to Kona. Jeep has made the round trip from SoCal to Maui, Kona and now back to N San Diego County. Because of health issues setting up the Jeep has been slow but I'm on the mend and making progress on the jeep. Currently driving the gas tank to near empty so I can install the UCF aluminum tank skid with the Savvy UAM tummy tuck to follow.
