    Saint George to Moab trip

First trip to Moab after I built my Jeep, ran Hells Revenge and ended up with a cracked lower control arm bracket on the front axle. We were able to borrow a welder but did not get to run Cliffhanger our last day which was a huge bummer as I had some aerial shots planned to show the exposure.

The Dusy Ershim trail with some good ole country music

Hard to believe it has been almost 10 years since I filmed this right after I built the Jeep, lots of changes since then. This is an amazing trail and one of the only ones in the United States that allows a motorized vehicle to be driven through the wilderness. Its 31 miles long and I like to...

My goal with this project is to build a reliable rig (Overlander/Expedition style) I can drive long distances to a trail or to explore new areas and back again comfortably, I want to try to keep the vehicle as light as possible. I have had some trailer queens (2 FJ 40's, 69 Bronco) and non...

    Auxiliary Transmission Coolers

Hi Jerry, its been years but I have a detailed build thread on Jeep Forum and Pirates on my LJ. I did install the Derale but have not had any luck with it helping on keeping the tranny cool and I don't live where its constantly in the triple digits or climb long steep grades every weekend. You...

    Auxiliary Transmission Coolers

Lines are not kinked or blocked. That looks worth a try, I do not want to get rid of Blaines cooler as my PSC hydro steering setup from him has worked flawlessly and after reading all the testing he has done getting that system dialed. I can modify the mount to accept the B&M pretty easily. Was...

    Auxiliary Transmission Coolers

Yes it has a fan which kicks on at 180 but does very little, If I park on a steep grade and its in park the tranny fluid is not circulating which does nothing to help cool the fluid. Also the frame bracket that comes with would provide better air flow but is going to get ripped off on the trails...

    Auxiliary Transmission Coolers

Did you ever get any feedback on this setup? I am leaning this way as I have the PSC hydro setup and the Derale finned cooler which sits dead center of the radiator. The Derale unit for TJ's with a fan is so far under the frame it gets no air flow.

    Auxiliary Transmission Coolers

I have been running the Derale unit with fan that Jerry has, its mounted under the rear of the tub and kicks on at 185 which happens on any kind of grade. I have seen consistent tranny temps in the 240-250 range. The bung is in the pan, might try the autometer gauge Blaine listed just in case...
