Going from hard top to soft top

I am considering buying a soft top to be able to take it down by myself when fall is here. My jeep has never had a soft top — are there any brackets or hardware I will need?

    Alien Shade—will this fit?

Wife wants to take the jeep out with the kiddo sans top, but I want some sort of sun protection for us. The alien shade store is closed but there is one on ebay. Any clue if this would fit? I can't xref and parts numbers...

Intermittent belt squeak and harmonic balancer

Thanks @Chris Any idea how big of a pain this will be to change?

Intermittent belt squeak and harmonic balancer

Howdy all. My jeep has had a noticeable squeak/squeal only when it has been cold out. I went to check the belt and it is tight and seems to be okay. All of the pulleys seem okay, but the crank pulley/harmonic balancer seems to have some wobble. I assume I should change this ASAP. Is this...

    Rear Main Seal Replacement (4.0)

@mots Thanks for the post. What would you say the level of effort was on a scale of 1-10? How mechanically savvy are you? I changed my valve cover gasket and am still leaking...debating taking the plunge.

What oil do you guys use on your 4.0s?

Walmart's cheapo oil is ~$14/5 quarts + $3.50 for an extra. They sell havoline full synthetic 6 quart box (like a box of wine) for $19.99. In searching they also have a dino box for $14.99. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Havoline-SMART-CHANGE-Motor-Oil-10W-30-6qt/628068494...

    Your Jeep bug bit me

Congrats. I can't wait to see how the jeep comes out. Hard to tell from the pics but that paint is probably salvageable with some microfiber cutting pads and some cutting compound. See here for my paint correction. https://wranglertjforum.com/threads/paint-correction-progress.27361/ Fluids...

In over my head — stripped valve cover threads

That was my intention but I didn't have a thin enough grinder wheel for the dremel. Will the home depot bolts work ok even though they are coated with zinc?

In over my head — stripped valve cover threads

Guess what? I fixed it and it only cost me $1.34! I went to lowes and got a 2 pack of 1/4-20 grade 8 bolts, borrowed my brother's dremel and made a tap. I was worried it wouldn't work but it went perfect. I went back and forth a few times and kept repeating until the bolt came out with no...
