Experience with Extreme Terrain / OR Fab

Just to close the loop on this, I ended up going with Ares Fabrication and couldn’t be happier with the product James and his team sent me. From order placement to my door in about 2 weeks, and this included custom welded winch guard and 3rd party powder coating.

I was just at Rausch Creek this weekend and saw some great builds with Motobilt and Rockhard. I will check to see what the lead time on Motobilt is, but Ares Fabrication also told me they had the Evolution in stock and ready to add hoops or what ever else I wanted so they might end up being the...

Wow, demand is high everywhere. Rockhard and Shrockworks lead time on the order of 3 months and Ares has unofficially discontinued the stubby TJ bumper (not stocked but will fabricate on order). I did see LOD just introduced the Destroyer to replace their Signature series. Not much on specs...

Thanks for all the great suggestions! Looks like the RockHard 4x4 Patriot stubby is exactly what I’m looking for. Would be nice if the winch hoop was welded vs bolt on but I can overlook that. Forum member discount available?

Well I must say I’m quite impressed with ET customer service. They were just as shocked as I was and immediately put in an order for FedEx to come pick it up and issued a full refund. They also escalated this to the web team to update the item details to remove hand-crafted in the US. Now...

I totally expect a full refund and paid return shipping. Any representatives from Extreme Terrain here? Got no response from my e-mail request aside from an auto e-mail saying their e-mail support analysts would be quick to respond. Guess I’ll have to find time to call during business hours...

Damn, when did OR Fab go out of business? Their website is still active. These the descriptions from both OR Fab site and Extreme Terrain:

Experience with Extreme Terrain / OR Fab

Hey all! Looking for some help with a recent purchase from Extreme Terrain. My wife and I wanted support US manufacturing and decided to purchase US made bumpers for our LJ project. I originally purchased a Poison Spyder Rockbrawler from Extreme Terrain because after two phone calls with...

    PC1P's 2006 Jeep LJ Build - Brünhilde

Ah yes, that rat bastard named Confirmation Bias! Get's me all the time! The other day I swore 25% of all vehicles on the road were Wranglers. I'm located just southwest of Philly in the Paoli/Malvern area. As for the Bedrug, it was super easy, especially since I didn't bother with the...

Picked up a second Jeep (2006 LJ)

That's an amazing deal! Wish I could say I got a similar deal for my entirely stock (minus the hardtop that was on the factory build sheet) 06 LJ I purchased at the end of March. It needed to be gutted (I found about 30 pens/pencils in the dash, seats, and every other nook and cranny) and was...

    PC1P's 2006 Jeep LJ Build - Brünhilde

Sir, you are an inspiration, and welcome back to PA soon! I am in about the same boat as you and just joined the forum today and found your thread. In late March I purchased a stock 06 LJ with 169000 miles and a number of issues (the typical blow motor resistor, RMS, oil pan/valve cover...
