Glue tread: does it work good?

I have a kit and haven't used it but here are a couple of thoughts. If there is a raised letter at or very near the tear you will spend a lot of time shaving and/or grinding it flat to make the patch work. If you research the components I believe you will find that it is just rubber reinforced...

    Joys of air travel...

The only time I don't dread flying is when I'm on business travel. The company I work for flies so much that I will never end up being bumped. But it does kind of kind of suck being paid, getting boarding preference, and watching a young family getting fucked out of a vacation day. Giving up...

AI generated highlights of laws most people aren't aware of. Key U.S. Flight Protections Automatic Cash Refunds: Under DOT rules, you receive an automatic cash refund if your domestic flight is delayed by 3+ hours or international flight by 6+ hours and you choose not to travel. [1]...

    Joys of air travel...

I'm old enough to have flown with decent snacks, actual meals, legroom, and no fucking TSA. The whole thing is garbage now.

14 foot boards in a short bed

Depending on the number of boards, yes, easily. Leave the tailgate up and strap it down in the front and rear. With the rear strap wrap the lumber bundle twice so if it moves backwards the wraps tighten. Attach a big red flag to the end of the lumber.

Has anyone ever put a Tacoma cab on a TJ setup?

I haven't seen that done. But I have seriously considered scabbing a car body with the same wheelbase on a TJ chassis. Would probably need to bob the car's tail to be trail worthy. Be an interesting project.

People were convinced long before that. Automobile customizers have been doing it since at least the lead sled days.

    EV thread

I really don't understand the reflexive dislike for EVs. Cars and truck are nothing but tools or toys. Having strong negative feelings about somebody else's tools and toys is dumb. Unless we are bagging on cybertrucks and their owners of course. I won't own a current EV because none of them...

Rental houses, tell me about landlording

One of my regrets is not buying rental properties. I could have but didn't want to be a landlord. The exception is the path another acquaintance took. He bought a large piece of property, spent money to install infrastructure for trailers, and built a small house in the center. He rents the...

Rental houses, tell me about landlording

I have a buddy with four or five nice multi bedroom multi bath homes in great neighborhoods. He never has to screw with bad tenants, deadbeats, or vacancies. Edit ... So far!
