I have one too. It will work on a TJ if you trim the top supports a little - see my photo below...

As stated, the headlights, dash instrument cluster, tail lights, battery, and practically everything else is grounded to the tub.

You can turn the front pinion with a prybar stuck through the yoke enough to fix that. I thought you had a problem.
