Your new heater core is bad, i bet 1/2 or more of the tubes are not allowing coolant to flow thru, which is not enough to heat the air.

Filling the engine does not send oil to the critical parts, the oil pump picks up the oil from the pan and sends it through the oil filter to clean it before it goes to the crankshaft and camshaft for lubrication.

New oil is dirty in the container and when you fill the filter you are putting dirty oil on the clean side of the filter which goes directly into the engine, not a big deal on small capacity filters to install dry, just don’t mash the throttle on start up. On large engines that the filters hold...
