So, if I can't gain any caster and still maintain an acceptable pinion angle, the only solution is less lift? Correct me if I'm wrong, but is that not what my problem is, negative caster?

I have considered this. Main reason, the tires that are on it have a lot of life left, and I think the wheels would be too wide for 31s. This was actually my first thought, but I still am not beyond going this route.
