It was unfortunately BOTH the transfercase and rear axle. Replacing the rear ring and pinion helped a ton. But the noise was still there and soon, the transfercase quit shifting randomly even after installing a Savvy cable kit and then started making an awful howling noise.

The Knocksense took a week long tour of VA but it's here. Jeep is still in the shop so I'm waiting for it to get fixed. I will hopefully get some time to get the wiring figured out soon. Between a couple trips and stuff with/for the family, my time is limited right now.

Is it seriously cheaper to buy an entire LJ soft top from Bestop than to buy the 3 windows by themselves or can I just not work Bestop's website? Also, their chat has been offline every time I've tried to contact them today.

Truck was for warranty work. Converter he put in last year cooked because of a failed boost valve in the pump. Car was a cooked PTO (what Ford calls a AWD unit) and took 12 weeks to get the parts in from Dana/Spicer. So it hasn't been good, money making work for him so far. LOL

I don't have time to crack the case open myself so it's headed to the transmission shop Friday morning. That dude is probably getting sick of me. I've had my truck, wife's car and now the Jeep with him this year so far. Ugh...
