2006 4.0 auto: Why is the overdrive switch a different size?

The replacement switches I got, will go in positions 1,2 or 4...so those are all the same. it's just the overdrive one that's different

2006 4.0 auto: Why is the overdrive switch a different size?

Does anyone know why Jeep made the overdrive switch a different size to all the others? I just wired in some bumper lights and added switches to the switch panel, and it turns out the overdrive switch will only fit in position 3 because it’s slightly different to the rest. Now I’ve ended up...

My review of 5.13 gears with 33's and 42RLE

apologies, 3.73. Mines an 06, and I can just put my foot down to get the revs up...but it's not ideal

My review of 5.13 gears with 33's and 42RLE

I have 31s, 42RLE and standard gearing. I really need to change it, but can't justify the money right now. I can get to 70 but going up any kind of incline is a struggle. I only ever drive in 2WD so I could always just get rear diff done but that's a really really horrible idea

I have music I can hear!

Weather’s warming up so I finally pulled the Jeep out from under its winter blanket and started working through the list of little jobs I had lined up. Last year I replaced the dash speakers which helped a lot, but it was still missing some low-end. Jeeps aren't exactly known for great...

    Exhaust hanger not aligning

Interesting, i thought it was just me being stupid. While I was under my jeep doing the rear shocks I noticed that the exhaust hanger had snapped off. I bought a universal one from amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CMWMHXFP?tag=wranglerorg-20 it didn't even come close to lining up, so I just...

For those that trust your Jeep, how did you get there?

yup...every time I hear a bump, or smell something hot...I start to panic (I know they run hot...the smell is supposed to be there...it's not a well-insulated modern car..it's a tractor!). I just have to build trust somehow.

For those that trust your Jeep, how did you get there?

the previous owner did NOT look after it at all. I'm hoping that with the work done (new engine, new transmission, new cooler, new cooler lines, new OPDA, new shocks, new track bar, new tie rod ends, fully overhauled rear brakes) I have something that is at least semi-reliable. My mechanic (who...

For those that trust your Jeep, how did you get there?

I bought my jeep (2006, 4.0 Auto) with 109,500 miles on it in February The oil pump imploded and destroyed the engine - got towed home by AAA. New engine fitted Then the transmission pump seal failed (we think) and sprayed ATF everywhere - got towed home by AAA. New Transmission and cooler...

    Dangling Connector

should be a mounting point on the block just above the oil filter

    Dangling Connector

yup... agreed, coil capacitor (or noise suppression capacitor)

    Dangling Connector

looks like a voltage regulator, should be mounted (earthed) to the engine block.
