I took the steering column out to replace heater core. When went to put it back something happened to pics I took for reference. I have 2 small springs I kinda remember but can't find them in diagrams and search on net takes me to suspension. Please help.

Turns out the piece was a bit mushroomed. I had a mechanic friend come out and she had a tool that was able to widen the hole so that it would receive the shaft. Thanks for your help.

The point where the shaft connects is the trouble. While keeping wheel straight, we have tried multiple angles and whatnot. Should it just slide straight in when lined up?
