    Out of state purchase question

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately seller backed out, so no deal. If it seems to good to be true, it usually is.

    Out of state purchase question

Found a good deal on a rebuild candidate for my daughter. Issue is it’s out of state. Anyone have any experience buying a non-running vehicle in Maryland and then getting it titled in Pennsylvania? It’s hard to find good info online about this. MD registration requires a passed safety...

New Jersey 1999 Sport part out

How much for the hard top? And is it OEM, I don’t think I’ve seen a gloss color matched TJ top before.

Days always suck when they start like this

Got the estimate back from the insurance company, but still no verdict. Cost to repair is $6500, which is right in-line with my guess. A parts total of $2882 versus my parts total of around $2400 (sourcing all the body parts from a part-out guy on Marketplace). I'm hoping they have the Jeep...

Days always suck when they start like this

Update. Adjuster was here today, even in the snow! Looked it over, asked some questions, took some photos, and left. He said the report will be done by later this afternoon. I'll find out if they deem it repairable and they will cut a check, or if it's totaled. If it's the later, he said it will...

Done right, most buyers would never know if the tub, frame, or even the engine were swapped. Those changes are hard to discern unless disclosed. An R title, however, is very easy to see when looking at said title. That said, I don’t really care either way as I’m not parting with this Jeep now...

    It's a sad, sad day

That’s baby talk. You’ve got a long way to go yet! This was my last milestone earlier in the year. Hopefully it will get back on the road soon so I can hit 225000.

    Purchased my first TJ

Welcome to Jeep ownership! Now get ready to empty your bank account! As others have said, yes, do an oil change. I rebuilt my engine 3 years ago, and it is standard procedure to change the oil after at most 500 miles. I went overkill and did mine at 500 and again at 1000. Without any records...

Thanks everyone for the replies and concern. Yes, I’m physically fine, and so was the other driver. Can’t ask for more from a collision like this. As for other TJs, it’s really hard to find a good one in my area. Most are 4 bangers. Almost all have frame rot. And almost all are for sale for way...

I think the elementary kids would love that, seeing as it’s parked in an elementary school parking lot right now!

Lol. The paint actually held up well, it was the bondo underneath that didn’t!

Thanks for all the responses so far. I will keep everyone updated. I got a ton of great info here when I was doing the rebuild, which is why I posted the accident here knowing this would be the best place for my questions. Have to tow the jeep back to my house and schedule to have the adjuster...

Thanks. I’ll order one of those as soon as I talk to the adjuster. Hopefully tomorrow or Monday.

Oh yeah. Frame damage and insurance totals it for sure. I’m thinking because it was completely restored in 2020 with a rebuilt engine that they will pay for the repairs.

Days always suck when they start like this

So this happened just before I got to work this morning. Looked to the left and recognized someone, and by the time I looked back ahead of me traffic was stopped for someone turning left. Was only doing about 35-38 when I locked up the breaks, so impact was probably around 20-25. Unfortunately...
