Tennessee 2005 Jeep TJ X. Auto transmission. Impact Orange. 76,000 miles. Lots of upgrades

Price drop! Now 17k OBO. 2005 Jeep TJ for sale. I bought it in 2018 in San Diego, CA, from a dealer. It was previously an Arizona Jeep. When I bought it, it had a spring spacer lift and 32's. No other modifications. I crawled underneath and there was not a single scrape. I upgraded it to hit...

    Wrangler TJ Gas Overflow Fix

The Lucas stuff is pretty slippery. Extremely unlikely that it’s a permanent fix, but if it allows you to get gas in the tank until you have the time/energy to drop the tank, that’s a win! I think my buddy thinks he’s fixed it. I told him he’d better order that new Bosch fuel pump and have it...

Using an additive to fix a rear main seal leak

It’s May 2025. A few months ago my RMS, starting leaking a bit. I hadn’t changed the oil in well over a year, hadn’t driven the jeep much either. So I changed the oil and filter, using the NAPA stuff, of course. And guess what? The leak went away again. I need to buy another couple jugs to...

    Wrangler TJ Gas Overflow Fix

6 bucks. Worth a shot, IMO. It’ll probably freeze up on him again, but maybe he’s on to something? Even if it’s temporary, might be a good idea to keep a bottle in the tool box. Hey I didn’t think NAPA high mileage 10w-30 was gonna help a rear main seal leak, but it did. That’s another thread...

    Wrangler TJ Gas Overflow Fix

I’ll start with a big Charlie Brown sigh…. Ok. That’s done: #1. You riled up Mr Blaine. Don’t do that. He will destroy you with sarcastic laser beams. Like the emperor in Star Wars. #2. The “GM flapper hose thingy fix” is not a fix. Period. End of sentence. End of discussion. #3...

Using an additive to fix a rear main seal leak

FYI, It’s July 2023 and my RMS is still not leaking. I have 3 big jugs of the Napa oil squirreled away in my garage. Thanks Jerry!

    Wrangler TJ Gas Overflow Fix

That’s the MrBlaine I remember! I moved out of Cali a year ago and my TJ has become a garage queen. But occasionally I get an email from this forum so I decided to open it this morning. I spent a little bit of time posting my experience on this subject. And then the next post some...

Those with tilt steering, do you have any issues?

Ok thanks for the heads up. I appreciate you saving me some potential headaches.

    Wrangler TJ Gas Overflow Fix

FWIW, this tranny jack and a piece of plywood makes fuel tank removal and replacement much, MUCH easier for those of us without access to a lift, or a strong friend. Same with bumpers and transfer cases. I’ve been borrowing my buddy’s since high school for various jobs, but I finally bought my...

Those with tilt steering, do you have any issues?

Mine loosens up over bumps. It can be dangerous when it happens, depending on where it decides to let go. It’s gotten so bad I have to hold it in place and steer with one hand in the rough spots. If I could swap it for a non-tilt, I probably would. I’m going to try the fix in post #22...

Considering this SYE Kit from Morris 4x4 center (is this even acceptable?)

I hadn’t heard of the JB Conversions SYE until now. It looks like a really solid unit. https://www.jbconversions.com/products/sye/np231j_short_sye.php

Poll: What Color TJ Do You Own?

I was trying to stay PC, but….there certainly were a lot of females in flannel shirts driving those things….a very statistically relevant majority as I recall… crap…am I going to get cancelled if I post this? Can I still say female? my wife wears my flannels when she’s cold, so it’s ok, right?

Poll: What Color TJ Do You Own?

I spent a year in northwest Washington….which has to be the Subaru Outback capital of the world. My wife and I joked we should open a Subaru dealership. As far as the TJ? Impact Orange all the way, Homies!

So I went and did a thing (enter TJ life)

Nice jeep! My 2005 was an Arizona jeep for its first 13 years or so. It had a little over 60,000 on the odometer when I bought it In 2018. I paid way too much from a dealer for those low miles, but it has been pretty solid. It had a 2” spacer lift and Eagle Alloy wheels and that that was about...

Considering this SYE Kit from Morris 4x4 center (is this even acceptable?)

Here’s a link to Adams. this is the link to the teraflex short kit. That’s the one that my jeep-expert neighbor recommended and it has been good to me. As mentioned earlier, they will send you the kit first without the driveshaft. After you install it you call them with the exact distance...
