I just got a Bestop replace-a-top (black sailcloth) soft top and installed it on my 2006 Rubicon.

I've installed several soft tops on my TJs in the last several years... But I've never gone with the more expensive sailcloth before, so I'm not sure what's normal.

I noticed a few things that seem off:

• Tiny holes around the zipper on both half door sleeves (picture 1)

• A large gap in the front top corner of both half door sleeves

• Smaller gaps in both the front and back corners on the bottom of the sleeves (not as concerning as the ones up top, which seem to let water in)

I've messed with these for hours, and I can't seem to close in the gaps—especially the ones at the tops of the doors. Has anyone else had these problems? Is this normal?

They were really good when I had warranty issues. I bought a trektop for LJ and broke one of the zippers installing it and they replaced the window without any trouble. Same thing on wife JK. The seam on the top wasn't glued shut and it leaked they sent a new one too again without issues. They just want pics and a copy of the receipt

Thanks for the advice, everyone.

They sent me a replacement right away, and it has none of the issues I mentioned before.
Both my old half door skins and the new ones I installed a few months ago have the same daylight coming through the zipper stitching. I figured it was normal. Did your replacements not have this???

He said his replacements had no issues.

The new one has zero holes. I was surprised that it fit so much better too—all of the seals seal like they should, and the doors close much better.

I think it was just a bad set that slipped through the cracks, as Jamison C said.

It can't hurt to send them pictures and your receipt to see if they'll replace it.

Good luck :)
