Are Diehard batteries any good?

The marine thing looks interesting, those seem to be everywhere.
The only two things that make a Marine battery are, in my experience and opinion, is they are usually a deep cycle and they have threaded posts with wing nuts. I would not choose a deep cycle battery for SLI use on a vehicle.

I could not find a amperage spec that said that the Sears Diehard Platinum marine was any different than a normal Platinum when they were still being built. So, that is what I ran purely because I could get it in a group 31. It never acted any different than any of my other 9 Diehards I had at the time. I did find out that they die just as easily as any other AGM if you let them sit discharged for any length of time whatsoever.

I bought a Wrangler a few months ago with a DieHard battery, stickered as 11/09, and the PO had a receipt for it too. It still worked fine, never any starting problems, after almost 12 years. Are DieHards good? This one was. I would not expect that from another one. I've never heard of one running that long. I replaced it, not wanting to find its end-of-life date on a trip somewhere.

The Group 34 Interstate AGM battery in my '01 is almost 6 years old and has a production date of 3/16. This battery has performed well in the time I have owned the Jeep. Whenever the battery dies; I will more than likely purchase another IF they are available or go with a NorthStar AGM battery.
