Hi All

I have an 06 with the factory sub. I replaced the speakers with some kickers and a kicker sub. Speakers and Sub are 4 ohm.

I have an Alpine head unit that I’m thinking about putting in but unsure of my options for the set up.

I’d like it to be an easy setup that’s better than the factory sound.

Can I Install Alpine HU and run 4 kickers w Alpine 18w RMS. Run sub w OEM amp

Would that work?

Sorry I can’t answer the stereo question. But I have to say it’s cool you’re allowed to park inside the house! I haven’t tried that since I got in trouble for wrenching on my Honda VFR 750 in the living room about 30 years ago😂.

edit: also, nice Jeep.

You can run it but you'll be a lot happier if you put an amp on all of it. Get a small 5 channel amp to run everything off 1 amp and the sound will be much better.

Yes, it will work. The sensitivity of the speakers is a key however. Over 88 and you should be good.... above 90 and you're better. Depending on the HU you should be able to "tune" it so the sub works fine for most music with the factory amplifier.

Sounds like a similar setup as mine. Kenwood head unit, Kicker speakers, and Kicker sub. The sub is running off the factory amp. I did the 5.25's in the dash with the dash pods. Big improvement and pretty inexpensive. Suits my needs just fine.

It requires double the power/wattage from an amplifier for a speaker with an 88 dB Sensitivity rating to produce the same SPL (sound pressure level aka loudness) than is needed for a speaker with a 91 dB Sensitivity rating.

For that reason I don't consider a speaker with an 88 dB Sensitivity rating adequate for a receiver with only 18 RMS watts available per channel.

that garage is way too clean. you need more shit/tools. you only have enough when you cant get from one side to the other without tripping over something and its staked to the ceiling !
