Arizona Rock Crawling Daily Driver

I know I think this may be the next big project on mine as well. I’m excited to see how it feels on my dads
You'll be amazed. I thought it was going to feel different before I drove @Midnight LJR's. It felt better than stock, still had the same return to center, and I could turn in the rocks with 1 finger. As an extra bonus, the steering wheel no longer jolts when hitting a bump on the highway.

Ah the joys of fitting shit on highlines!
Got the reservoir, pump, box, and cooler all done. Everything but the ram assist is done.

Ordered a Y strap from Macs tie downs and mounted some D rings in the tub to mount to. Didn’t trust the riveted footman loops.

I’ve got a tray that I strap on top of the tire to hold my tools as well. Everything is rock solid now I’m super happy with it. You’d be surprised how much you can fit back here even with a tire!

I like. I’ll do something like that when the kids move out and my backseat gets stowed away. Nice!

Looks great!
I've done something similar. I really like it. Having an LJ is nice though, gives you a little more room.
I love the increased visibility, the weight off the tailgate, and the increased departure angle without dragging. 🍻

New nutserts today. One of them stripped out. Threads seemed pretty rusty from the jeeps previous life so I replaced all of them.

I also have been feeling like there is way too much slop in my steering box. I was able to turn the steering shaft quite a bit before the pitman arm would move and I could hear the slop. I tightened the adjuster screw probably between 1/4 and 3/8 of a turn. I saw somewhere Blaine write he’s ok with 1/2 of a turn but you’re really not supposed to mess with it too much. The Jeep feels like a brand new Jeep. The steering slop I was feeling is gone. It also returns to center better than it did before. From what I understand, thats the opposite of what should happen when tightening the screw. Maybe mine was just that far out of spec? When this box bites the dust I’ll go to PSC steering. But who am I kidding I probably won’t be able to wait that long.
