In general, I agree. Mostly, the idea that “you don’t always get what you pay for, but if you don’t pay for it, you won’t get it“ holds true. However, a year or so ago I bought Vision X lenses and Supernova V4 bulbs from the above referenced Headlight Revolution site ($160 for everything). They are similar in appearance to Toyota or JK 7” housings (that is to say a stock look) but with the advantage of LED bulbs. The beam pattern has a very sharp upper cut off. I have them aimed so the upper edge of the pattern is a couple of inches below headlight center height at 12 feet out. I never get flashed and the visibility at night is similar to my wife’s newer fancy SUV with stock LED lights (although they don’t turn into corners like hers does).Quality lighting is very, very expensive, because making precision optics is very, very expensive.
