LED headlights lumens too high for on-road use?

You won't get far in SoCal - or any crowded city freeway - unless you drive exactly like this. Like my late father used to say, "If you can get a fender in, get it in and GO!"
Also why I love all the "folks who don't use their turn signals are assholes". Yeah, so? All a turn signal does is give the car slightly behind you in the next lane fair warning to move up and cut your ass off do you can't move over.

And the idiots in the next lane that ride *just* inside your rear bumper - esp. when towing a trailer. For miles. My father had a solution for that - he'd wait for them to either pass or drop back, and when they didn't, he'd just ooze on over anyway! I may or may not have done the same thing when pulling a trailer myself.

The trick with a trailer is to live to the right as much as you can stand. If you have to change lanes, move over and when you are halfway into the lane, flip on the turn signals.

Ahhh you guys just haven’t figured out how to drive like a drunk driver, just swerve back and forth, the roadies scatter like rats…a few jerky motions back into your lane just confirms their suspicions and away you go!

I know the exact distance. It is the exact amount of space that is just slightly smaller than the car in the next lane that is trying to cut in and slightly longer than the sight line over the hood of my truck to see in the rear window of the Civic in front of me. How did I do?

I'm actually not kidding.
It varies by state but you are in the ballpark. Alabama is double the speed so 140 feet for 70 mph. And exactly on the lights

But on the interstate it is everyone for themselves so we change the foot measurement to inches lol

hmm, sounds like your headlights were aimed too low...?if said deer looked you right in the eyes at impact,he must not have been 'blinded by the light'so to speak.re-aim your headlights, but not at a wall, instead aim them on a 3d archery deer target
It was broad daylight in the middle of the afternoon when I hit him/her.

Anyone that would purposely blind a deer is an asshole.

Phillips makes LED swap in replacements, they're cheap and probably extremely well engineered.

I've thought about them, but my Sylvania XtraVision halogens are amazing so I don't have reason to change. The thing about the Xtravisions though, they are VERY hard to aim. It took me three nights to get it right the last time. they have a very peculiar exact focus, and the beams have to be merged at an exact distance... but once they're on, they're on! holy crap they're amazing, the best headlights I've ever had on on any car, and I've had factory xenon and currently have another factory LED car.

Just out of curiosity, do you know the proper distance to follow behind a vehicle? Or at what point you outdrive the capability of your headlights?
Three second rule.

When too fast to come to complete stop after visualizing obstacle. Varies per car/setup/tires/ability(reaction time i.e., age/sex). A LOT less speed in curves, especially the way aTJ snap oversteers!!!! With my TJ on low beams and Wrangler tires, no ABS 55mph is the absolute limit (tested). With my Porsche on Michelin PS4s, max is 75mph low beams (tested, felt like my teeth were going to rip out of my jaw).
