What parts do I need to replace my rear disc brakes?

probably just a TJ that came with disc brakes.

Mine are factory...

The local parts stores are showing rear drum
Are you getting model year from the emissions sticker or the manufacture date?

looks like discs didn't start until '03, so either you have an '03 built in '02 or it was axle swapped or converted.

If it looks like my photo (minus the wheel spacer and the R logo on the end of the axle shaft), it's probably just from a disc brake TJ and you should be able to use parts from an 03-06 TJ.

If it doesn't, it could be from something else. I don't know what other vehicles swap over, but someone else may come around that might.

i always go off of the manufacture date. The guy i just got the jeep from said both axles were swapped before he got it and does not know what they came from. I know they are both dana 44 lockers.

If your axles are all original (Dana44 with air lockers) then it sounds like someone swapped in a set from a Rubicon model. Those would have been from 2003 - 2006 and came with disc brakes.

Pull the rear pads and rotor, take them to the parts store, and ask them for a rotor and pads from a 2003 Rubicon. Compare them and see what you have.

Check to see if your 44 has a drain plug. If it does, it came from a Rubicon. If not, it's a standard 44. Plagiarizing one of the pictures @rasband posted:

That looks like a Rubicon 44. The hole up top, currently plugged, is where the locker switch goes. That switch isn't needed when you swap it into non Rubicon TJs or LJs.

Brake parts from a 2003 to 2006 will work. FWIW, you got a bonus!
