So... when working on your rig what hand protection do you use? Do you go at it bare knuckle or use a soft, lotion impregnated mink lined pair that keeps your mani looking sharp. perhaps it's somtething in between?

Me... I use a pair of Hardys from HF...mostly because I was there getting something else.

I don't use anything. Only time I use gloves is when using industrial paint stripper then burns the skin, or if I was torching something. I don't really mind the grease and paint stains they go away as soon as I shower. I even bought some mechanix brand gloves but ended up using them for shooting in the rain instead of working on my jeep.

If I am working with something jagged I wear Longacre Racing mechanix gloves. If I am working with oil I wear latex gloves, but mostly other than that I don't wear any.

I start off a job thinking I wont need them as its simple 20 min job then after and hour of wrestling a rusted bolt and a few cuts and busted knuckles later I think I should have got the latex or mechanics gloves out....

All it took was one week of fork oil soiled hands for me to realize I needed a solid pair of work gloves. For me I liked how tactile these were: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MGSGN46/?tag=wranglerorg-20

The nitrile coated ones work pretty good because they protect from minor cuts and busted knuckles, but they're thin enough to feel what you're doing, and the Lycra back of them makes them actually breathe. Although I'm probably partial because we have to wear them at work so I'm used to them by now.

X2 for the Hyflex gloves. I use the ultra light 11-518 ones. They're cut resistant, super tacky, and nice and breathable. I'm required to where them everyday at work so it doesn't feel right when I try to work without them.

I've got a pair of those in my pocket right now. :) They're great for when handling and cutting sheet metal!

And bonus they're made by Ansell....so you wont catch any diseases and your jeep wont get pregnant.
