SYE Install Screw Up

It's a pinion holder. I think it was for G-Wagens. Leftover from my Benz days, it's one of their special tools that's handy for many things.

Isn't that more for the flange style outputs? I don't know that I would trust the small bolts you would use to mount that to a TJ front yoke. Maybe if you can get all 4 in and tightened down.

Those vehicles do all have the flange type in/out puts, but it works well combined with a good impact. If it was all manual work with a breaker bar, then maybe I'd worry about shearing bolts.
That said, I've crushed several Ford and 1 Dana 30 sleeve with it and it's always worked well, starting the main hard crush with an impact and creeping up on the final spec by hand.

You guys are awesome I appreciate all the help. I'll definitely let you know if I'm able to get it with my pipe wrench. There's always a right tool for the job, even if you haven't seen it before. Can I even say I screwed up if they make a tool specifically for doing this 😂

That is pretty reasonably priced... I feel like this is probably gonna be more than a 40$ pain in the ass if I had the money
I have one, it works well. I bent the piece that mounts it to a pipe when I tried to crush an impossible to crush crush sleeve.

Aw yeah now we're in the mix stay tuned to see if the skinny arms can deliver

Ohh yah baby, and you got the big one!
Hope that works out, 1 out of 4 times i managed to wedge it in and it worked, other 3 times i was chewing up the yoke beyond recognition.
If you cant get a good grip, pipe wrench should have a loop hole on the bottom of the handle, use it for 2 bolt method. Handle should be long enough to reach and use frame for support

Also, Advanced Autoparts has a phenomenal selection of rental tools

I’ll post here instead of starting a new JB thread. Does the lock ring on the shaft have to be flush all the way around? The new one that the sssye came with has a gap when installed?
