Is electricity free in Australia? If I kept mine at 60 in summer my monthly bill would be $500+.
Worth every cent! Split refrigerated if fairly cheap to run even in heat mode
Actually we work all day so the aircon is only on when we get home and on weekends, I have a really old house double brick with 13 foot ceilings so the heat stays out mostly until we start going in and out opening front/back doors.

Not to compare with the COLDER temperatures other parts of the USA are experiencing, but here in NE Florida we have experienced temperature swings of 40-45* day/night. There have been several days over the past couple weeks where its been quite windy with the temperatures down in the low 30s. For me that means putting on a long sleeve shirt and a pair of pants, but I have seen people walking around with heavy jackets that resemble parkas.

My wife and I visited Peru in August 2014 and remember seeing people dressed like they were on an arctic expedition when it was in the low 50s. We wondered if they knew something we didn't, but it never got colder than what called for a sweatshirt or light jacket.

Temps have been chilly here in VA lately, running in the teens at night. 🥶

Single digits overnight here. we're about 10 degrees cooler than normal for January. Our average temp is usually around 30F and this year, its been hovering around 20. I don't remember a year with so much Ice on the driveway.
