At one time there were some threads on here talking about replacement speakers for a TJ and what they thought best and also a thread for stereo replacement double DIN or single DIN. How do I find those?

I just installed a pioneer DEH-4220BT single DIN. It has a CD player but more importantly BT and USB connection. Like it a bunch so far. I replaced the front speakers 4x6 rockford fosgate and the rear overhead speakers also rockford fosgate. If you order from Crutchfield and put your jeep year and model they include some wiring harnesses the plug right into the stock harness. Just a note on the rockford speakers. The connection tabs (large ones) are too big for the harness i just mentioned. i chewed Crutchfield a little about not telling me that. I would choose a different manufacturer to avoid that head ache. It sounds great the install took more time because if the dinging around with speaker connections - if it wasn’t for that this was a five minute per speaker job.

It probably took a lot longer to get in touch with Crutchfield and complain than it took to just put the correct wire terminals on. But surely they're going back and reviewing all speaker wire terminal sizes across all of their inventory now that you brought it to their attention. Saving the world one complaint at a time...

The general consensus I've seen is the polk db speakers have high efficiency to get the most out of the speakers without an amp. I have these and I'm pretty happy with it. Also one of the smaller powered subs from kicker or kenwood can round out the sound and are easy to take out when you need to by just undoing one plug.

The double din stuff is scattered all over the place, but search on here for "double din" with the quotation marks and click the option for "search titles only". I think there's a few youtube videos also

I run a Polk MM1 6.5" component set off of an amp. Marine rating was a selling point for me. Plus, they use rare earth magnets so they have a small footprint.

Would definitely recommend the polks as well. Head unit swap alone will give you a night and day difference, but I'd highly recommend an amp upgrade as well.

A subwoofer made all the difference for me.

I am using the polk speakers all around with a kenwood amp under the steering wheel (KAC1814?), bluetooth kenwood headunit and a sound ordnance sub. I know hardly anything about audio but I find this setup works well when the top is off and I am on the highway, no trouble hearing the music. Talk radio/podcast can be a bit tough to hear though
