Hello, Friend of Bestop:


Here at Bestop, we challenge ourselves every day to deliver the most premium accessories to help you enjoy your driving adventures. Lately our costs of achieving this goal have been going up, just like we’ve seen in so many other industries.

As a result, we have found it necessary to raise our prices to offset some of these increasing costs. Beginning Monday, April 4, 2022, prices on most Bestop products, including soft tops, will increase between seven and 10 percent.

We want to be forthcoming and transparent about this change and we also want to provide you some advance notice.

Bestop will honor all of our current pricing up to April 4, so if you’ve been eyeing that new soft top to enjoy the warmer weather ahead, you may want to act sooner than later. Remember that this price increase will affect most of our accessories – including soft tops, doors, bumpers, seat covers, soft storage and more.

We look forward to seeing you on the trails!

As you all know I've been a long term believer in Bestop's quality but in the last two years I have ordered three of their Safari tops, a longer version of the bikini top, and all three were too wide to stay put in the door surround channels. I ended up adding 4-5 screws to each side into where it attaches to the door surrounds to hold it in place.

They used to fit tight as they should. I gave up having them send me replacements under warranty since both replacements had the same problem. I hope yours fits better than mine did.

It's sad when good companies start letting their quality bleed out
Soon there won't be any quality accessories available for the TJ/LJ
Any recommendations on a LJ bikini top?

Interesting timing as I was looking at a new extended safari top. Everything that I was looking at this morning on Bestops website said it was backordered. That included a safari top, the extended safari top, bikini top, header channels, and fabric doors.
 
I'm glad my Bestop is only 8 years old and still fits great. My brother ordered a safari/bikini top for his JK and sent it back. MADE IN CHINA! :(

Our LJ "Squareback" top is an absolute disgrace. Fit is a notch or two over "cotton tarp draped over tractor".

I fear we're doomed.

Why?

I meant to say quadratec has another $100 gift card ok top of thr rebate. I know a lot of what they sell isn't the best and some people have opinions about them like a jcwhitney for jeeps.

They have a warehouse in PA so for us in VA it's usually pretty quick shipping.

So I don't have to pay return shipping when the top doesn't fit right.
I ordered fender flares from another company, didn't like them and they said I had to pay the $150 to ship them back. I contacted Paypal, got a refund and kept the flares too. Then I sold them on Craigslist. 🤫

Doesn't look like they offer return shipping costs but I am not sure any retailer would with a full top. Unless you bought it locally or something. Repacking a top would be a pain.

Are there even any decent top alternatives? Master top offers a twill option now. Unfortunately LJ top choices are pretty limited.

My neighbor had an issue with a seam on his Bestop top. Quadratec sent him a new top (minus the windows) and told him to keep the old top. I've never found a good alternative to Bestop.

p.s. @williambmac had issues with his Mastertop twill LJ tops.

My lj top is the original. It's in OK condition considering it's age. I wish they still.made thr gray tops for the lj. Black only and no twill option from bestop for the lj.

It sucks that they're raising prices, but I figure they can charge what they want. If you don't like it, feel free to buy something that's not made as well. They don't have any competitors that can compete on quality.
