I posted a couple of pics of this old Jeep sometime last Fall. I’m back in the area so I took some more pics. It’s in a pole barn next to Suds Monkey Brewing on Texas Highway 290 west of Austin.
There was much discussion about my previous post & I’ve got some better pics now. Some of us thought it might be a DJ (mail truck) because of the shape of the cut-outs at the entry. These pics show early CJ headlights & 7 slot grill. It’s also definitely a 4X4.
‘Any thoughts?

That’s pretty neat since I used to travel that stretch of road coming through Dripping Springs from farther west in the Hill Country. I miss that area weekly!

No, but I can see the door jambs.
I don't actually think you can. If you look closer, they remove the fold down windshield (holes are still there in the pics) and drop on the dispatch hard top and enclosure which has tracks for the sliding door that unlatches at the front given the handle location. The doors, jambs, tracks, top, and windshield are all part of that. Especially more plausible given that the windshield on the barn find is a completely different color which makes it very likely it was added after the dispatch top was removed. Also given that the floor in the barn find is flat out to the sides of the rig for easy ingress egress, that's where I'm putting my money.
