Engine cuts out at walking pace and at idle

Hi all. Ref Jeep TJ 2004 automatic.

Occasionally when I drive real slow at idle engine speed (1250rpm) and typically at 2mph, the engine would cut off. No stuttering. It just stops running. I can then immediately restart it and it will be fine. No issue when driving faster. Smooth idle and engine runs sweet otherwise.

It happened the other day when I was parking up. Yesterday I did greenlaning all day and it happened then also about 10 times throughout the day when going very slow through the lanes. Happened once when in traffic jam under no load. Only happens when engine is at idle revs and going walking speed.

Has anyone seen this before? Could it be the cam position sensor? I have a new one of those but not replaced it yet.

Thoughts appreciated.

That code is for the leak detection pump, I think the electrical part of it. It's possible you have some wiring issues back by the fuel pump. You might check for loose or damaged wires up near the fuel tank by the gas tank filler/rear driver shock or on the other side where the leak detection pump is in the rear passenger fender well. If the fuel pump is loosing power it might kill things quick with no other codes. Next time it happens you might pay close attention to the fuel tank level and see if something funny is going on there?

Thanks and I will check for that too.

I took it to mean idling along slow and not really at idle.
In my case I was referring to idle when stand still but I checked again today. It is actually at around 750rpm also. I think it showed 1250rpm after I did a cold start. In any case alongside what you suggested I am also going to clean up the throttle body components and see what that brings. And I have ordered a new gas cap.
