A few of us will be heading to SMORR in Missouri the weekend of Apr 22-24.
SMORR info - SMORR website

We will be driving up Friday evening after work (arriving late). Wheeling all day Saturday and half day Sunday. Tent camping all weekend.
I never been to SMORR but I have heard it is a good park with some good wheeling. We will be focused on hitting hard/technical trails but there are easier trails at the park for those who would rather stick to hitting the badge trails.

I already sent a note to AMS417 and he and a few of his friends may join us as well. I also sent a note to Haladay on Jeepforum and he said there was a group planning on heading to SMORR in april but he didn't know what weekend yet, hopefully, it is the same weekend but may not be. I will message everyone again when time gets closer, but I figured I would post this up now so people can look at their calendar and possibly pencil it in.

I will be in Moab that weekend, otherwise I would probably come.

SMORR is the first place I ever took my Jeep wheeling. I was inexperienced and by myself that trip so I stuck to 1-4 trails, but it seemed like they had a good variety of trails for everyone.

I have never been to the park before, so in general I am not sure how much of the park you would be able to ride. I can tell you that the group I will be with will be running hard trails and I would not recommend being on 33's.

My oldest is turning 7 that weekend so I'm out... But thanks to this thread I now am aware that I'm closer to SMORR than I am to Hot Springs, by about an hour.

I just read on the SMORR website that the Mid-south Jeep club will be at the park the same weekend. Not sure how big of a group they will have but you may want to make camp/cabin reservations ASAP if you haven't already.

Couple weeks out, any news?

I've secured lodging and plan on being there with 3-4 jeeps

There will be 3 of us headed up from Memphis on Fri Apr 22. We will be arriving late Fri night, staying in the campground.

Perfect!! Can't wait to meet y'all!

We'll be there mid to late afternoon Fri. We have a house somewhere, plan on meeting y'all Sat morning.

Wheeling Week!

There is three of us confirmed from Memphis heading up Friday night, we will be in the campground. I also know Mrholland's group as well as AMS417 will be at SMORR this weekend as well.
We will be arriving Friday night and will be in campsite #23. I will be in a Red TJ, we will also have a yellow TJ, and a freakish 80's themed Samurai that says Not A Jeep across the windshield. We will most likely be hitting the trails as soon as the office opens Saturday morning and we can get waiver signed, pay, etc.... (assuming we will arrive after office closes Friday night). We will be hitting as much as the park as possible and shooting to hit some technical trails throughout the day. After dinner we may head back out to do some night riding, most likely we will listen for a V8 in the distance and head that way to watch buggy's play. May hit a few trails Sunday morning before loading up and heading out. We love having others join us, but we are not a group that stops and talks (or grabs another one) between obstacles, we typically get everyone through and move. We also tend to have a GAF problem so most likely my TJ or the Samurai will end up on a trail that is a little over our rig's ability, but with some good line pics, some finesse crawling, and maybe a little persuasion, we will make it to the top. Follow at your own risk :) .

SMORR is cash only, no credit cards. It apparently is run by Marty Byrd. They have a free Map for download on Avenza Maps.

I’m there in spirit my friend. Have a good trip.

Was looking into going to smorr this weekend and decided to check if there was already a group going
and turns out y’all are the ones!

I am on 32’s no lockers 2.5 suspension and 1.25 body lift. Anyone else in this level of their build that would be down to meet up? I see above the OP will be hitting hard trails and doesn’t recommend even 33’s so I’m sure I won’t be able to keep up with them but anyone else more mildly built headed there this weekend?

If I make the trip it would be arrive Friday late and can stay until Tuesday

Marty Byrd, lol. Brandon the owner claims to be working on getting an ATM on site. Its a super nice park. We are lucky to live so close.

We are in site #4. Rig pic attached, Should arrive 7-ish Friday evening.

33's and lockers are doable for about 75% of the park if its not really wet. More if you don't mind winching some.

I will have tools, some parts, and a small 110v welder with me.

There will be all kinds of rigs there. You can run most of the trails up to the hard obstacles and normally find a easy path around to meet back up. If you have a GMRS radio it helps a lot with coordination. Suggest you download the Avenza app and park map for SMORR. The paper map they give you at the gate is great, but not everyone can read a map and a compass well.

With your build I would recommend sticking to 1-3 rated trails. Be sure your recovery gear is packed and in good order just in case you need it.

That may be a good decision, @LJtheunicorn. Take a look at my rig - I have trouble keeping up with Victor (@gasiorv)!
