"Pacing myself" build

Well, my original radiator gave me 125K of trouble free use, so if this one gives me the same amount of service, I highly doubt there will be any left by that time. I almost feel I should by one to keep as a spare, lol!

I was thinking the same thing. Actually, I've been thinking that about a lot of OE Mopar parts. Especially wear parts like cooling system components and sensors.

I know for a fact you'll be able to get u-joints and axle parts forever, since that stuff is used on a variety of vehicles other than just Jeeps. Once we're at the mercy of the Chinese though... Then I cringe.

Let me know how you like them. I'll will probably have to replace mine soon.

Drove it to work this morning. Ride is definitely improved, but my OME's were shot, so I wonder how long I've been driving around thinking my suspension was ok? Lol! So far, they handle very similar to the OME Nitros. Look forward to seeing how they do in an offroad situation.

It all started a little over 10 years ago when shopping for my dream Jeep, not knowing what the heck I was looking for. My only criteria at that time was, 5sp manual, AC, and a hard top. Oh, and unmolested. Looking back, I wish I would have done some more research, but I think I got lucky for the most part. Couldn't quite pull off a Rubi, so I found a 2003 TJ Sport with 40K miles. It was bone stock, one owner with 30x950x15 all terrains, Dana 44 rear/lsd with disc brakes. And the bug hit me! Sadly, I didn't take any pics when I purchased it, so I'll start out with few of the first mods I added shortly after purchase.
View attachment 11394 As you can see in the photo, I added a OME 2.5" lift, 31x1050x15 BFG KM's(first gen),and a Bestop fuel cap cover.

I just read all 10 pages of your build. It is very inspirational. I like all of the fabrication. I can fix just about anything, but I am not an inventor, so i get inspired by people who can. It was a good story thanks for sharing. I am off to read your trailer story now!

Thanks guys!

I tried to find in this thread or maybe I read it in another thread that you are running a OME 2.5 lift with some kind of leveling coil spacer? Or is it that level only with the OME lift? If you are using coil spacer levelers what is the brand and size?

Yes, I bought the OME 2.5" lift 10 years ago. Got over 125K miles on it so far. Springs finally started to sag just a bit, so I bought 3/4" coil spacers when I transitioned to 33" tires.

Just recently, I replaced my OME Nitrocharger shocks with Rancho RS5000X shocks. Pretty happy with them so far.

Did you only put them in the front or all of the way around?

Front and rear. My goal was to get 2-3/4" of lift, but then realized afterward that the springs had sagged 1/4", which put me back to 2.5" of lift.

Nice, Your jeep looks pretty level without any extra in the front. I am not a huge fan of the rake on a 4x4. I have a Ram 1500 looks like a 2 wheel drive. You would think it was if it weren't for the giant sticker on the side that says 4x4,

Just apply thin coats of the trim black. It runs easily, and make you clean and scuff the flares really well. The rear flares are a PITA to remove, so it's best to remove the rear wheel well splash shields first to gain better access to the capture nuts that retain the flares.

Ordered a new soft top from Extreme Terrain Sunday night, received it today. Not too shabby! I'll post a review when I get it on next spring. Not expecting a lot for $99, but it's got to be better than my beat to heck old soft top.
