Should look like this.

It is ok. One thing I forgot to ask is how the armature bolt and buss bar fit? It should have went in with ease and only light pressure to get it to align.
The knowledge is worth humbling yourself for.

I think the armature bolt and buss bar fit well. Pics below.

This better? 🤣

Make sure that buss bar does not touch the motor case or bad things could happen. The screw holes look to be lined up with the armature bolt though and that might be an issue. Can you rotate the brush plate so two round holes are 90 degrees to the armature bolt and everything still aligns?

By motor case are you referring to the housing?

I set the two tabs where they were originally, which forces the screw holes to be lined up with the armature bolt. Speaking of those two screw holes, it didn’t even come with any screws in the holes. I need to get some. I suppose they screw into the two tabs through the motor housing. Making sense now. I don’t think I can rotate the buss bar to line up the screw holes in the housing with the tabs. The hard line determines where it can be.

I need to get some. I don’t know what they are supposed to screw into other than the motor housing. Can I move the two tabs to different terminals so I can rotate the buss bar to avoid any contact with the housing?
Those two holes are for the two main motor bolts to pass through to secure it to the drum support.

What are these holes for? They’re threaded. One in each side, two total.

Ok, I see what you are saying now. I’ll have to change what terminal the armature bolt is is connected to. That will change the original orientation. The solid buss bar forces the brush plate to be in an orientation.

@Blackjack. What are these holes for? There are two of them and no screws were in them when I got it.

There should have been two lugs that attach from there to the ground brushes on the plate. I will take a pic tonight when I get home.
Ok, so those have to line up and the bus with armature bolt have to line up? I'm not sure I'll be able to get them to line up with the bus bar, especially if I have to move the bus bar to another terminal. I'll go out when I get off work and see what it all looks like. Let's hope!

They all have to line up. If the armature buss is an issue I will look to see if there is a different one I can send you.

EDIT: I went out and rotated the brush plate. There’s no orientation where I can line up the armature bolt and the two grounds for the brush plate. This is a pic of the other orientation.

Maybe a flexible armature like one linked to below soldered to the bolt?

Ok, here’s what we’re looking at.

The two long bolts have to be in this orientation to line up with the drum.

The armature bolt and bus won’t work in this orientation.

This is the offset between where the terminal is and the hole for the armature bolt. It’s about 1/4” offset.

Sorry for all the trouble. Can I cut the bus, reshape it, and drill a new hole in it to fit?

This is what I have from before.
