Still here, and still waiting for 2.5L Rebuild it's been 10 weeks were getting close but, summer coming. I repoed my jeep off there dirt lot to stop any under carriage oxidation.
My jeeps undercarriage is mint. And I want to keep it like that. Going tomorrow to see what's up haven't even got price yet. Wish me Luck.

Ouch, 10 weeks is painful! They should have at least given you a ball park estimate with the understanding that's if your parts like the block are still good.
What initiated the reason for rebuild?

I would have picked it back up if it wasn't finished in 3 days (if you made an appointment). I have no patience. My father rebuilt my old 2.5L in my driveway in no time.

Piston Slap, this is 3rd out of 5 cato engines. First one, 85 range rover ( head gasket) took 18 months, why 18 mo, U.S. did not get R.R. till 1987 this was European export "Gray Market" Only Ferrari auto shop would take the job. next one 87 chevy step van (Cracked block) took 5 weeks

I'd find another shop, that's not a good business practice.

Last month I posted here a $50.00 Bounty for any one that can find me 2000 AMC 2.5l reman that's not on back order and can be shipped today from a real reman-engine supply house. I had no takers

My Local Jeep Chrysler Dealer can't find a Reman-engine, tried his 3 suppliers. All on back order No ETA
I took your original post as you were waiting on the shop to get your jeep 2.5L in to rebuild it. Now I understand the delay, it's the same supply chain issue everyone is dealing with and therefor can't pass fault onto your local shop.
