What would you pay for a 230k mile TJ?

Just found something interesting. The car fax for the LJ says in 2015 the Lj had 145k miles. The current owner says that the odometer reads 135k miles and that it works. He has only had the Lj for about two months. On the carfax it says that the Lj has been “exempt from odometer reading” and the last recorded mileage was in 2015 at 145k. So this means I don’t actually know how many miles are on the LJ? Not sure what I should do

is that the most recent mileage recording, and do the mileage reports before that point seem to line up with that? Mistakes do happen, the 4 is right above the 1 on a 10 key, so it could have been 115. And it's incredibly hard to change.

If the condition seems appropriate for 135k miles I wouldn't worry about it too much. The price you're paying for it wouldn't be too much for having 170k miles, IMO.

You'd think, given this possibility, that there would be a way to check to see if the cluster was original. I don't know that there isn't, I just don't know if there is or how.

It was last reported at 116k in 2012 before the 145k in 2015. It says in 2022 “exempt from odometer reporting”. It could have been an error while recording the mileage but I am not sure. I read on here that I can check if it is the original cluster by cycling the key 3 times and reading the numbers displayed at the end which should be the same as the last digits on the Vin
