Will a PCM from a US spec TJ work on my UK spec TJ?

Hi, new to the forum but have had a couple of 4 litre TJ's previously, Got the chance of buying a '99 tj 2.5 but the engine ecu is missing, apparently Chrysler Uk say not available anymore.
If I order one from US will it work on a uk version, couple of companies say they will program to your requirements.

The uk part number according to Fiat (who are uk dealers) is 56041 619AE, is there an alarm system or encoded key that needs programming to the car as well or pretty basic?

Was that ecm running your Jeep? That part number is listed as a 98 2.5l international build.

Hi Mark

As I said there is no ecu/pcm/ecm on the jeep, previous owner broke the key in the ignition, sent the ecu away to have new keys programmed but the ecu got lost, so I don't know what was on previously.
The part number 56041 619ae was given to me by Fiat uk who are the Chrysler dealers here in England and tell me it is no longer available.
