Bosch vs Delphi fuel pump

Pretty sure pump went out on my 99, Delphi is the best quality i'll be able to find then?
If you are handy with fixing things you can replace just the fuel pump inside the fuel pump assembly with a Bosch fuel pump. They are still available.

But if you would rather not tackle that job and want the entire fuel pump assembly which includes the fuel pump, housing, fuel gauge sender, fuel pressure regulator and filter, then Bosch no longer makes the entire assembly so you'll need to go with a different brand like Delphi.

Thanks for always responding Jerry!! I guess i'll look into it a bit more. Seems like the Delphi says it has a limited lifetime warranty I might just go with that for ease of installment.

Huh. I was told that Bosch doesn't make or sell the whole module anymore, so I went with just the pump itself from Bosch:

Working well so far.
how hard was it to instal the pump only. I'm not even on 50k on my last pump but its been sitting for a long time, i got it started but i think it had bad gas and clogged some things up.

When i check the pressure valve there is nothing coming out, not even a hiss of gas. If I let it sit for a while i can get a drip to come out but not enough fuel to start the damn thing. I'm getting power to my pump and i know the fuel pump relay is working.

Easy! I wasn't looking forward to it but it turned out to be dead simple. Dropping the gas tank was quite easy. Replacing only the pump was kind of self explanatory once the module was out. Note that you don't use the mesh skirt that hangs off the end of the Bosch. Take that off and use the filter that's in there (or have a replacement on hand). The hardest part was getting the plastic lock ring to thread correctly when putting everything back together.

Opted out for Delphi since its been reported that the Bosch sucks up more gasoline than the Delphi
And when "the Bosch sucks up more gasoline" where does it put it? It goes into the fuel line for the injectors to use as needed. Just like the Delphi. Where did you see that reported, and why did you listen to it?

Have to research where I saw it but it supposedly delivers more fuel which is good for an engine swap maybe V-8 but not for 4.0
Mine is already quite thirsty

All TJs are thirsty, but it's not because of a fuel pump shoving too much fuel into the engine. The PCM controls the fuel injectors. The injectors need fuel pressure, and plenty of current capacity from the pump. But the PCM and the injectors meter the fuel, not the fuel pump. That should read "potentially delivers more fuel", which just means it can, if needed. But it doesn't just shove it through the system and out the tailpipe. Your thirsty TJ will use exactly the same amount of fuel with either pump.

Bosch is the OEM pump on later models. I’m not positive if all years are though.

I just bought a Bosch at napa. Maybe a month or so ago. That being said is is OEM manufacturer but I doubt they are made to mopar standards anymore.it was also a one part number for both 15 and 19 gallon tanks.

I recently had my fuel tank down to install my UCF skid and fix the inlet check valve. I installed a new Bosch fuel pump module.
Problem now is when I put gas in it, the gauge is very slow to respond. I can drive for about 20 minutes before the gauge comes off empty and the low fuel light goes out. The gauge is also inaccurate now. It will only go to 3/4 when filled up. It's coming back out this weekend.

Did you replace just the fuel pump itself or the entire fuel pump assembly that also includes the fuel gauge sender?
Jerry, I did the whole assembly. I checked the terminals at the connector, GM vehicles are famous for spread/corroded terminals.
I’ll end up pulling the assembly and testing the level sensor with a dmm.

I just replaced mine with a Delphi but the old original pump plus the Delphi did not have the little arrow facing forward. Anyone know if is required to face the arrow on the pump itself forward ?
