If you live on the ocean, and leave your windows open, the salt will be on you kitchen counter. (meaning it will be on everything in your house).Yep my pops lives next to the alligator farm on the island,we will end up here too, north enough and next to the ocean it stays a lot cooler than southern Florida, but if you leave your car out it will rust quickly, the salt is in the air and sits on the car when you wake up!
I knew a man who's fairly new ocean front home had the front door hinges fall apart from the salt, and his front door fell off when he opened his door. Sliding glass doors require roller replacement. I met a man who travels up and down the east coast of the US who does nothing but repair sliding glass doors at condominiums. He calls ahead and when he get to each condo there is a long list of customers waiting on him. Home owners don't get too many years out of their AC unit that sits outside. The list goes on and on. Oh yea.....hurricanes.
