Looking for a compact subwoofer

I'm a fan of the compact, under-seat, subs that have a built-in amp. I don't know that brand you linked, but some others on this forum use the Rockford Fosgate PS-8, or the Sound Ordnance. Those and others are listed here. I think I'd trust the reviews from Crutchfield more than those from Amazon.

My PS-8 fits under my driver's seat, but I'm not sure that's true on all models of the TJ. Others on this forum have put it under the back seat.

After commuting the last several weeks in the TJ, it's clear I need both a small amp and subwoofer. I don't have any ideas yet on the amp, but did come across this subwoofer. I'm not looking for big power, just a little extra bass. Thoughts?

@Irun i just checked the one you linked and with free shipping you might as well get that one instead of me shipping my used hs8

Seems similar to the sound ordnance B8PDT that I have. It works well for me and is compact enough that it is not in the way of everything. I currently have it behind the passenger seat on the floor. A sub made the biggest difference in sound in a TJ in my opinion.

I'm a Crutchfield fan and will take a look there first!

I just installed this Cerwin-Vega sub a few weeks ago. It's too big to put under the front seats (maybe you could get it under the driver side if you don't have a strong box. I've been decently happy with it so far.

You can run any number of small amps that will fit neatly behind the steering wheel. Picking out the right car audio is quite a bit of a rabbit hole so good luck!

Kenwood under my passenger seat. I safety wired it to the cushion. Haven’t had any issues whatsoever.

+1 on the 8" Sound Ordinance.
It wasn't easy, but I was able to get it under my driver's seat.
+2 on SO. It fits in your console too!
I put the 8" Sound Ordinance in my and my son's Jeep in the console. We both love the sound. Actually, I put it in my Jeep first and he was jealous so I helped him put it in his.
Just ordered the SO B8-PTD. The price was hard to beat, especially with the 60 day return policy and 3 year warranty. I've never been disappointed with Crutchfield. Thanks for the input everyone!

I’m very happy with my kicker in the stock location powered by a five-channel amp under the steering column.
For anyone interested, I wired it to 2 ohms but the key imo was to dynamat the stock enclosure and then run 1/4 nylon spacers between the enclosure and center console (this is necessary to give max extension for sound without it hitting the center console grill opening, 1/8 spacers might have been enough but I didn’t chance it). The dyanamat made it easy to stick the spacers to it so no fancy tools were needed to keep them in place. Other than that u just do some minor clipping/trimming to the inside of the enclosure which is easy using pliers and cutters.

Just sharing my install of the Rockville 10" slim (RW10CA) as another option. I installed it when I upgraded the factory head unit and speakers. It doesn't have the Kicker or Alpine brand history, but it provides all the added bass (and more if you want) i was looking for at a reasonable cost. A year+ later, and I am just as excited to play music in the Jeep as the day I installed it. I upgraded from the stock radio and speakers, but still....the sound is amazing to my ears.
Everything (minus the powered sub) came from Crutchfield, who's shipping times and customer service continues to impress me. I installed a Scosche quick disconnect which has proved to be an awesome accessory when occasionally needing to easily remove the sub for trunk space.
