I am not happy with the aftermarket radiator I purchased awhile back, and I want to find a good quality mopar radiator to put in before it gets too hot, i’ve searched several sites, ordered from a place called vivid racing, because they are based in my city and I thought why not… Long story short, they scammed me, charged me two separate times for two radiators, I have spent hours on the phone/computer trying to reach them to cancel my order, have heard nothing. I am still looking for a reputable source that sells quality mopar radiators for less than 600 bucks.. my jeep is a 4.0 wrangler tj 2002 with a 5 speed in it. thanks!

Rockauto is good if they have it in stock. If your radiator is stock style your problem could be somewhere else, it could be an expensive mistake. Have you done a treatment with Prestone or Thermocure to get all the crap out, is everything else in good working order? There are a ton of things that can make a TJ run hot and a stock style radiator that isn't leaking isn't one of them.

Edit: people get Mopar over stock style replacements simply because the others burst early and not because they don't cool, if it's stock style it doesn't cause cooling issues until it blows

Mopar sells quality Mopar radiators for under $600

I got one on eBay

For something as important as a radiator, it's not worth saving $100.

This subject has been beaten to death and it's the same conclusion every time. Use an OEM radiator.

So… I do all the work on the jeep myself(I don’t trust others) with the exception of our family mechanic who really just lends me his lift so i don’t have to jack it up. About 3 months ago, my mopar radiator cracked after 100k miles… I never EVER touched 210 in AZ heat of 115, this radiator I bought from oreillys has “worked” but tends to reach about 220-225 in 104 degrees with AC on. My cooling system works, the radiator just sucks, and i’ve read several forums that aftermarket chinese radiators are not even close to as good as mopar for our jeep tjs. Water pump, thermostat, hoses all have less than 5k miles on them. It just doesn’t keep it as cool as I would like. I have never overheated though, not even when my radiator cracked i pulled over before it even ran out of coolant.

You are confusing a discussion about aftermarket radiators like all aluminum with the longevity of replacements like those found at Autozone. The radiators at Autozone don't cause cooling problems, they fail early. Advice to replace based on a cooling issue is simply ignorance on your part.

I can tell you by experience, my mopar radiator that had 100k miles on it ran better than my oreillys radiator. I understand where you are coming from, but the only thing I changed in my cooling system that was a different brand from the previous parts was my radiator, because of convenience(as it is my daily).

Not to mention, mopar radiators have more cooling fins, and more rows that hold cooling capacities better than the chinese ones you buy at your local auto parts store.

Not once did I advise to replace the radiator. I provided information on where to buy a OEM radiator form a reputable source at a reasonable cost.
Which is exactly what I asked for, so I thank you sir lol. I’ve read several(more than I can even count) forums on the difference between aftermarket vs. mopar radiators, and everyone in AZ/socal have all said that mopar is the way to go in terms of cooling ability(which is why they cost more than the chinese imports from oreillys/autozone

@Jerry Bransford can you confirm? A mopar OEM radiator will run my jeep cooler than a cheapo oreillys radiator? especially in AZ heat with 195 degree thermo?
I just purchased a mopar radiator from my dealer on my company account,I think it was 360.00 ran great this weekend in 90 degree heat, but there are a lot of variables,I just replaced everything I could do and made it all mopar stuff,Jerry don’t know what you have going on,is you’re entire cooling system overhauled with good parts, has your block been flushed?

So, like i said before, everything is mopar OEM in good working condition, and what tells me that, is everything runs PERFECTLY until i’m running speeds higher than 55, I have no issues keeping my engine not overheating, just runs warmer with this oreillys radiator than it did with the OEM I had before this.

Runs about 220-230 in 104 with AC on going 55-60+. Which it NEVER did with the last radiator. I saw above 210 when sitting in drive thrus blasting AC in 115, and it maybe got to 215-220. and to answer your question, yes… my block was flushed when I replaced the radiator.

Find another mopar radiator and more importantly get a mopar fan clutch.those temps are too high
