Hey All,
I scoured the web and couldn't find any other issues on this, so I dug into my Jeep to try to figure out why my gauges kept popping the 10a fuse for the gauge cluster and wanted to advertise the fix in case anyone else was having the same issue.
ISSUE: Every other day the 10a gauge fuse would pop and cause all of my gauges to quit working (speedo, tach, voltage etc.) lights would still work. Installed 15a fuse (not recommended) and still had the same problem.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT: Code U0155: Lost Communication with Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module (IPC).
CAUSE: Main wire harness that feeds the instrument panel under the steering wheel behind the dash had worn through the harness and created a dead short to the bracket. Pulled harness away, fixed arched out wire and no issues since repair.
See pictures, hope this helps any of you out there.
Big shout out to [email protected]! Mark was very helpful over the phone, thanks buddy. God Bless You!
