Looking for a compact subwoofer

After commuting the last several weeks in the TJ, it's clear I need both a small amp and subwoofer. I don't have any ideas yet on the amp, but did come across this subwoofer. I'm not looking for big power, just a little extra bass. Thoughts?

I have the 8-inch version of it in my LJ and it's more than adequate for me. I've got it sitting under the rear seat.

+2 on SO. It fits in your console too!
You put that in there? any suggestions on popping it in there?like a few of you guys I have polls all the way around and they sound great but I need the base for mid low and low range.

it sounds really good but I miss the bass lol, especially for 90s alternative stuff and 80 prog

I believe there is a thread here somewhere that shows a step by step install in the console.

Also, for those that don't know, an empty baby wipe container fits perfectly in the console after the sub is in place. I keep my winch control and some other misc. in there.

I've been very happy with my SO in the console for a little over 3yrs.

I've got that under my rear seat. I'm happy with it for what it is. Definitely sufficient for filling out normal base. I had a box with two Kicker Comp VRs that would rattle my mirrors but had to make room to move my rear seat back. You are welcome to listen to it 👍

I know I’ll get flac for this, but have you considered the Quadratec factory replacement? I decided to give it a chance and it’s actually pretty hefty and bassy. With a decent head unit I could tune the sound nicely, but I just want to keep things stock and avoid extra wiring.

I had a custom setup in my 02 and the wiring made trying to clean or remove anything miserable.

The Insane Audio I installed isn't cutting it from the sound perspective. There isn't enough power to run the Polk dash and sound pod speakers. The addition of the small amp and subwoofer should be enough for me.

The challenge is going to be where to install it. Under any of the seats isn't an option for me. I have a Tuffy console, non-subwoofer, so we'll see what that looks like. The other likely place will be up under the dash. As is always the case, the time to do the install is my problem. Lately, there has been even less available for anything Jeep related.

I haven't seen this option before- how do you like it? Does it sound good enough?
It sounds far better than it did without a subwoofer. I liked the idea of how compact it is and that I could cram it under a seat and not worry about water getting to it. I also still have room under the seat for my jack or other storage. If you have realistic expectations for a powered 8 inch slim subwoofer and wanna keep a stock look and still have the same amount of storage it’s worth looking into.

I have not. The rear seat gets removed when I wheel.
Just for reference I'm attaching a picture of what I was talking about. There's a bunch of different ways to go about it but you get the jist. You are saying you want the sub there when you wheel so inside the seat isn't viable for you though, right? Do you have a storage box under the rear seat as well?

x2 on the Sound Ordinance B-8PTD. Sounds fantastic. Huge upgrade from stock Sub.

Google "Easy Console 8" Sub Upgrade (Sound Ordnance B-8PT)" and you'll get some good wiring diagram pictures that make the install even easier (on another forum).

Just installed a small powered sub this weekend in the gf's TJ. Was a fairly cheap option, first impressions are favorable
