Front bumper bolt size?

Get the torch on those bolts before doing any more damage. Get the bolt HOT as in darned near red hot... that will break most any seized bolt loose.
Jerry, Jerry, Jerry… what will we do without ur Jeep knowledge?!?! Luckily, we have this forum as a form of reference for posterity. Have you ever considered authoring a Jeep how-to book?

Jerry- I like your hat my wife is from Kauai and the Na Pali Coast is magnificent. We will be heading there for a few weeks but not on vacation. The in-laws need my help around the house.

I have stripped out the head of two of the bolts already so I stopped removing the old bumper. The new bumper (new to me) didn't come with bolts.
Please clarify the bolt size. 1/2 x 13 M5 or M8.
I don't know bolt sizing....
What is the 1/2?
What is the 13?
Which one is the length?
My bumper doesn't have tow hooks.

Thank you.
Hello, I’m new here. It’s funny, I currently live on Kauai and like to spend my weekends camping and trail blazing with my 2000 Jeep Wrangler. My Jeep didn’t come with the front bumper hooks so I’m adding them on. What’s the recommended length I’d need for them (I was thinking 3”)? I also have a 3/8 thick winch bracket plate with the stock bumper and original bolts.
Thanks!
Isaak

The length you'll need is the length you have plus the thickness of the hooks you buy. ;)
