Trying to install longer bump stops in the rear and the old jounce bumper bolt does not want to come out. It just spins at the top. Any tips on getting it out?

I would order a new cup, cut the old cup off and cut the bolt head off and any threaded part that is already unscrewed - Should easily pull up through the top.

Bump extensions are usually on the bottom in the front and on top in the rear.
Is there a particular reason for this or is it required? I just drilled a hole and put it in the bottom because nothing else seemed to work for me in the moment. I’m going to cycle the suspension tomorrow to see if any problems arise when at full bump

I am not sure of the reason for the rears to be on top. That is just the way most do it.
Maybe not the reason, but the rear perch base is relatively thin. Tapping it doesn't usually hold up well. The front base is much thicker and holds up well when tapped.
