Scrubbing soft top. Anything better than Dawn?

My soft top needs cleaned before putting it away for the summer. Its gotten a bit of mold or algea or something on it. Maybe just road grime. Idk. Its khaki - which really is a dark green - so hard to tell.

But I only wash it at the self serve with that fairly soft brush. So it needs a good scrubbing. (Not the windows of course.) But I was afraid to use anything stronger than Dawn. For fear of clouding the windows.

Any better recommendations besides a good scrub brush and Dawn?

I use Meguire's soft top cleaner. Wet the top down with water, spray the Meguire's on and scrub with a soft to medium brush. Rinse, let dry and spray and rub in 303 Aerospace Protectant.

I also have a khaki soft top. The combo has worked great for mine.

Maybe I should clean mine soon.

I use normal car wash soap (probably Meguiar's Gold or something) and water for a total vehicle go-over.

For specific top cleaning products I first use 303 Convertible Top Cleaner and follow up with 303 Protectant.

The clear windows get 303 Clear Vinyl Cleaner and Protectant.

I've been quite happy with those three products.

+1 for Meg's soft top specific cleaner. Dawn & Simple Green will work but if you maintain your paint, both of these will strip it of any wax. Just be prepared to wax when you're done. If you don't wax the paint, have at it with the Dawn!
