I was wondering if anyone could show me what the factory original steering stabiliser looks like. The one on my Jeep seems quite thin and no markings that I could see. If the shocks that came on my Jeep are any indication, then this may be the original one installed at the factory.

My Jeep gets a slight steering shake at 60 MPH and I've decided to look around and not just fix the steering shake but also see what else needs replacing while I'm down there,

If you’re replacing it anyway, just get one. About $35. I use RE. Some suggest Monroe, but give it a paint job before installing bc manufacture one is crap.

Oh, I was just hoping to know if it is the factory original for my own curiosity. I'll try to grab a pic tomorrow as I have to go to work shortly and don't have time today to.

Not sure what RE or Monroe ones are, do you have links by any chance?

A bad one won't cause your shake, and a new one won't fix real problems.
Which is why any factory replacement will do.
Monroe is a typical brand you might find at your local auto parts store.
Other than tight components, tire balance is most important.

Not sure where the shake is coming from, but only happens when I hit 60 MPH, so I tend to just keep under that.

Also here's how mine looks.

If nothing is obviously worn out when you check old control arms can let very small tire balance issues become bigger ones. After checking all the basics you might replace those if they are stock (with new stock ones). Hopefully the balance makes it drive smooth.

You get it fixed up yet? Or still having some issues at 60? Most steering stabilizers will last well over 100k fyi so it is probably not the culprit

Nope, lost my job before I could fix anything, but I think when I can afford to, gonna get the wheels balanced and see if that helps. But I'm also fairly certain now the steering stabilizer isn't the issue.

Good luck on landing a good job! And yes your shake is caused by imperfect tire balance, a bad/dead steering stabilizer is a passive device which cannot cause the tires to shake.

Still learning Jeeps, but much appreciated on that info, that makes more sense. :) Going out of town without my Jeep for a few weeks soon, so I'll handle the balancing when I return. I'll shop around for a reputable and reasonably priced local shop for this.
