Hello everyone!! I just purchased my TJ about 3 days ago and am super excited to join the Jeep community. First order of business was to replace the top as it was falling apart at the seams (LITERALLY!). I ordered a kit from Extreme Terrain, and the top fits great...however the upper door skins don't fit/match at all. Do I have different model doors? Wrong kit? Please help! Thanks everyone and looking forward to being a part of this group and learning as much as I can!!

Where did you get those upper door frames from? The TJ half door uppers have posts that are offset (not in a straight line) unlike yours from what I can tell. It looks like your upper frames are for a 2 piece soft door which is all flat. Those skins will not work.

The doors came with the jeep. And yes like you said, they aren't offset like all the others I've seen. Thanks for the input, do you happen to know what kind of doors these are?
I stumbled across something that said you can use YJ half doors is you change the hinge brackets. Not sure if its true but if it is I wonder if PO changed them?
The doors fit no problem on my TJ. Original owner must have modified the hinges or doors to fit.

Those look like Bestop 2 piece doors. I am running the same doors and the upper skins will have a Velcro strip at the bottom to mate with the lower. But like I mentioned they are sewn on so not sure Bestop sells them separately.

Post some pictures of what you actually have on the jeep to help figure out the mystery. I just realized the problem with the posts not lining up. The soft top kits come with skins for the traditional factory half doors

I disagree. YJ upper door frames have a hard upper rear corner. Like these.

Later YJ uppers have rounded rear corners. Here's a set of Bestop YJ soft doors that I have. I later replaced the paddles (the handles) with ones from a TJ and they work fine on my TJ. The YJ uppers don't well fit though because the windshield angle is different. I believe the YJ windshield is 4* "steeper".

I have a couple of sets of new Bestop soft upper skins. I have never replaced a set but understand it is a buggar of a job ... lots of stretching and swearing. 😊

It’s not that bad at all. Especially when using good frames. I just did my Bestop uppers this morning. Still doing little tweaks…
