Anyone using a rearview mirror backup camera? Thinking it might not be a good idea with the fancy mirror.

I just installed an Akaso DL12 in my Jeep. Love it. Tried to put in an Amazon link and apparently they no longer exist.

Standard mirror.
Just couldn't see out the back with a 33 on a spare rack. And eventually I want 35s.
That and the footage has been useful for YouTube.
Case in point this weekend a bear ran across the road...I didn't have the GoPro running but I was able to pull the front camera footage.
Would like it if I could get the factory mirror off and the screen higher up...another inch would be great. But this one rubber bands onto the factory mirror.

I have been looking at one of these seems great and I really like how it replaces the mirror, but I have never actually owned one. might make for a great double as a trail cam.

170* is wide enough for sure. I wonder about depth perception in reverse, guess it would take some practice to get used to. I already have a front dash cam that I swap between vehicles and it's a pretty wide angle so I have to get really close to have any worthwhile trail footage. My GoPro7 kicks my butt for the most part .. ya, it's just me.. and I don't use it.
