Car pics too cool not to share

The Renault 5 is such a turd and this thing is so fun. Makes no sense but at the same time it worked. I drove the 5 turbo and not the 2 but I've heard they are similar.
So given the era, is the throttle response just on and off due to turbo lag? I would guess the car would still stay somewhat planted in a corner because of mid engine ? My turbo car experience is limited to front drive K-cars, AWD "Dodge" Stealth, and the most fun stock and hot rodded Buick Grand Nationals!
The GN is two edged sword, strong and controllable until pushed way too hard, then it turns back into a Regal and you wonder if you will survive ! o_O

If the GN was good, imagine how much better the GNX is?:cool:

I've thought the same question, it is probably like the Modded GN I drove. Real quick and strong and it had a 60's muscle car vibe, way more power than the brakes and suspension. You know , that pee running running down the leg kinda fun !
I just love the license plate ! It says something to some of us !

I've liked those cars since I found out about them. My mother had a black '87 Monte Carlo SS when I was a kid, so I guess that's where it started. Those were some big doors to slam on my little fingers. Funny thing is my parents looked at the GN "turbo Buicks" before buying the Monte Carlo, but my dad couldn't get past V6 vs V8. In '87 the "turbo Buicks" they were looking at would have been the GNX. :(

Either way, I liked the Monte Carlo. I still remember sitting in the front seat of that car, barely able to see over the dash, and mom racing a Camaro/Firebird or Mustang down the highway. We got up to 120 and I was thrilled.

At one point, we had four Monte Carlo SS cars in the parking all at the same time: two blue '84s, a white '85, and a maroon '86. Talk about a popular car. I liked the blue '84s the best.

I don't love it, but the kids go-kart really brings it together for me.

Yeah I don't quite love this "Glasser" either but I do think it's a great name for a gasser that originally came from the factory with a fiberglass body.

I wish I knew what this one has for an engine, or at least what it sounds like, even though the C3 is a little too new to be a gasser and way too new for the WWII shark teeth paint job.

And since I mentioned factory fiberglass body, here's The Glass Widow. It's not quite a gasser but I found it here.

Could never get into the Aerocoupes, however.

Historically, I have always fallen for cars that most folks aren't fans of. The Gremlin, Pacer, Edsel, Frazer, etc. The only car that I have ever looked at, fell in love with, and just knew it was destined to be a classic was these little coupes...

BMW M Coupe

I love the M Coupe, I also loved both of my Gremlins. The first was rusted almost too death, so much that the rear hatch window full off because the roof rusted out under the upper hinge. Here's a picture of my second Gremlin the day after I sold it. Even then it was considerably better than my first but man was I bummed out when I "carefully" drove under a cable to get to a party that wasn't supposed to happen and that cable ripped my rear spoiler off.

Now I think the Gremlin may have inspired BMW to make the M Coupe, they are kinda the same shape. :ROFLMAO:

The Aerocoupe, however is definitely something else. I'm not sure who to blame more GM, NASCAR, or the people that bought them.
