So about a year ago i bought My LJ with what i believe is a 5.5" long arm lift and 1.25" lift. I mostly use my jeep for camping, trails and cruising around.

I love the look of the 37s so i do plan on keeping them. The jeep is about to go to the shop to get the armor repainted, new bumper and I bought some metalcloak overlines but im debating on going genright highline instead.

My question is. Would it be beneficial to lower the jeep some or would it make the ride quality worse? How much could i lower it without negatively effecting things?
Would highlining and lowering it a couple of inches be worth it do you think or just leave it as is and lower it an inch or two?

Not sure what route to go. I would like so help so that i can do it once and right the first time :) thanks in advance.

With 37s… genright will give you more room for the rear of the tire allowing you to maintain more up travel and lower the ride height compared to metalcloak

Depending on your shocks and how technical you or the shop is, it might be worth installing new shock towers up front to give those foxes a better travel bias (dependent on the length)

Walker evans wheels are nice👌
Stock tj axles are not strong enough for 37’s. I’d recommend you go down to 35. Stock Tj brakes are adequate for 35’s but for 37’s you really need a big brake kit.

So changing the ride height. You will adjust the bump stop. Current shocks may or may not work with new setup.

On 35’s you’ll ideally want 5.25” lift. 4” springs with 1.25 BL. Oh and highlines will give you more travel so that’s a good thing.

I think with highlines he may be able to get away with a 3" lift and a BL and still run 35's ok.

Thanks for the advice. I dont really do rock krawling so the LJ axles should be fine? Hard to choose what to do haha. I want to do it right the first time. Love the look of my current 37s but 35s would make more sense.

Based strictly on appearance ... I'd leave the height alone and sell/swap the MetalCloaks and whatever's on there now for some Genright hi-fenders. But I'm a bit biased on that look.

Wouldn't highlining as is leave a huge gap between the tire and fender?

Your ball joints will be the weakest link with 37s. Is it doable yes but not recommend.
You’ll wear out front end parts quicker with 37’s. Id still recommend a big brake kit from Black Magic Brakes. In an emergency brake situation you’ll be needing them.

So I’m thinking your set up is going to be same height with high lines on 37’s.
x2 on selling the MC and getting GR high lines. They just look better and provide more travel than MC but since your not off-roading that really doesn’t matter.

Have you thought about finding some oem fenders for it? I feel like with your use and 6+” of lift, you wouldn’t be ripping them off from off roading. If you like the flat fenders, I think genright non hiline would look really good

I thought about it yeah but i think it might look weird with my 3 inch rear fender flairs on my jeep
