Seized driveshaft

I had an Adam’s shaft do the same thing to me after 5 months and 2 wheeling trips. I took it out and put the rebuilt stock shaft back in. Then I contacted Adam’s and they sent me a new one. I have not installed the replacement shaft, still running the stock one for now.

I use Tom Wood and see no reason to change.

Many YouTubers use JE Reel

I suspect you have to be on a more friendly basis with Reel to get anything resembling service and for sure anything affordable.
Reel is local enough to drive to. I can't get a shaft out of them in less than 2 weeks. Every shaft I have ever had from them was at least 50% higher than the same thing from Tom Wood's.

If I order from Tom on a Monday, I'll have it here Thursday on average, for sure on Friday. If I order early on a Tuesday, I typically get it on Thursday. Prices are good, very few to almost no issues and I've got to be close to 100 shafts by now.

I had to quit using any of the local places. They charged as much for a rebuild as Tom gets for new and it is the same 10 day or longer turn around. And, I have at least 6 shops close enough to be local.

There are not many pics of stuff on the TJ that I find disturbing, but your avatar is one of the more disturbing ones I've seen. That is just bizarre.

You don't like the lime green?? Cmon that is how it was from the factory!! Lime green was cheaper than the black and this is a budget build, right?

Color is fine but you don't have enough money to pay me to stick a motor in with the grill and fenders in place, for sure the grill.

Ah, I thought for sure color was the issue as it seems to be with some buddies. It definitely wasn't hard at all that way...

Looks like Burlington Northern green to me.

Next time I blow up a 4.0 (hopefully never) I'll give it a shot but driveway swaps, with hand tools has me to like working in tight spots lol

It is just basic physics. The higher you lift the motor with a hoist, the easier it is to tip over and the less stable it is. It is safer, easier, and far more efficient to pull the grill at a minimum.

Just got around to cleaning the driveshaft. I took a nice file to the inner edges just to clean up some crap and got all the old grease out. Lubed up the splines really well, put it back together, and nothing. Moves about 2" on the shaft and just stops...

Yeah that was where I got...and then picked up the phone and sent it in to Adams...

There's a blue plastic Teflon like plastic on the splines... don't want to mess with that too much.

Yeah, I am in Canada so that is a huge shipping charge! Just got off the phone with them there just shipping out a new shaft for the cost of shipping through them, way cheaper than if I did it. Fingers crossed no issues with this one.
